Description

Mario, Peach, Luigi, Rosalina and Daisy as soldiers and nurses of Australia and New Zealand in the First World War era of 1914 to 1918, on the eve of ''ANZAC day'' on April 25th on my home ''New Zealand'' as well as ''Australia's''.

The background was set in the ruins of Ypres in Belgium (now it is 100 years of the "Battle of Passchendaele", New Zealand's blackest day (since Australia's worst military disaster at "Fromelles" in July 1916), the Russian revloution in October, and the U.S. entry in the War on April 6th) and was done in the style of those vintage postcards they used to sent to their love ones while they were away at the front during the First World War

Following Britain's entry in the war on August 4th 1914, Australia and New Zealand followed Britain's side, along with her colonies, as it relied on their mother country as part of the British Empire, after becoming Self-Governing nations at the beginning of the 20th Century as former British Colonies (Australia in 1901 and New Zealand in 1907).

The first war for the ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand army Corps) began at the beaches of the Gallipoli peninsula in the Dardanelles of Turkey against the Ottoman Empire (Germany and Austria-Hungry's side in the First World War), and later after the Gallipoli campaign, they fought at the desert of Palenstine and Damascus, and throught the trenches and mud of the Western Front in France and Belgium around 1916 to 1918.

The ANZAC spirit in Gallipoli has been really important, and it gave a recognition to Australia and New Zealand as proud interpendent nations. Every day on April 25th at dawn, every poppies were worn at every War Memorial in Australia and Zealand, to remember those men who sacrifices and died their lives for their countries and the true ANZAC spirit.

April 25th a long time ago,
You went to battle at dawn,
Many lose their lives that day,
Together we will mourn.
More thain that through,
We will match and remember those brave
men,
For they went to war and battered on,
They fought for our freedom then.
Through the darkest nights and the longest
days,
Through muddy grounds you go,
You matched on and looked behind,
And you saw the poppies grow.
we will wear one on this day,
To remember your courage- so strong,
We want you to know that in our hearts,
You memory still lives on.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young, Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. They mingle not with their laughing comrades again; They sit no more at familiar tables of home; They have no lot in our labour of the day-time; They sleep beyond England's foam.

Lest we forget🇦🇺 🇳🇿
